NI ASiT Regional Meeting May 2009

 

NORTHERN IRELAND ASiT MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - Wednesday 6th May 2009

Please note that we require you to book a place through Maureen McFarland at the contact point below PRIOR TO FRIDAY 1st MAY 2009, should you wish to attend this FREE meeting for surgical trainees (you need to confirm a place regardless of whether you want the free dinner or not!)

We are pleased to announce that the Northern Ireland division of the Association of Surgeons in Training (NI ASiT) will be holding a meeting on the evening of the 6th May 2009, at the Mount Conference Centre, Woodstock Link, Belfast (http://www.the-mount.co.uk).  The meeting will feature presentations from 3 excellent local trainers on topics relating to their recent time working in disadvantaged countries in Africa, and we hope local trainees will show support to these colleagues and trainers in hearing what they have to say.  They will cover aspects relating to the Surgical Pathology, infrastructure, training opportunities, and organisational issues that arose with their respective trips. The speakers featured will be:

  • Mr Terry Irwin

Courtesy of our sponsors, we are pleased to provide dinner prior to the main portion of the meeting and the timings for the meeting will be:

  • Arrival Reception:  6.30pm
  • Dinner: 6.45pm-7.30pm
  • Welcome: 7.30-7.45pm
  • Main meeting: 7.45pm-8.45pm
  • ASiT business (including update on the WTD implementation and protection of training in August & Election of new NIASiT Committee):  8.45pm-9.30pm
