Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland ASiT is ever increasing in popularity and has managed to raise awareness of training issues among its trainees. We hold 3 regional meetings per year on a variety of interesting topics, with an expert panel of local trainers. Recent meetings have included a careers symposium, and a debate. There is also a Regional SpR teaching programme run by the Surgical Training Committee.
The elected represetatives on the NI ASiT Committee are available for you to contact should the need arise, and are keen to hear your views. They represent your views to the relevant Surgical Training Committees, so it is important that you let them know what concerns you.
The NI ASiT E-group has been developed to promote topical discussion among Northern Ireland trainees and is limited access to trainees only. Notice of meetings and other relevant events will be sent from the NI ASiT e-mail address, published on the E-group, and posted on this website. A Discussion forum with lots of interesting information, images, and presentations is available on this website, along with current news and information on important training issues. Job reviews of SpR posts within the province including timetables, rotas, pay banding, and experinces are available here in order to aid decision making for preferences for future posts.
