Regional Meeting

Northern Ireland - Regional Meetings November 2005

The Northern Ireland Associaiton of Surgeons in Training held a regional meeting entitled "Forensic Aspects of Surgery" by Professor Jack Crane, State Pathologist for Northern Ireland, on Thursday 24th November 2005, at the Holiday Inn, Ormeau Avenue, Northern Ireland.

After an informal drinks reception, and trade exhibition, which was well attended by trainees, the meeting commenced. This meeting provided an entertaining and informative evening, which the majority of trainees present felt to be of use and applicable to their clinical practice. Professor Crane highlighted the most common markers of injury, and their clinical relevance, as well as emphasising the important medico-legal implications in Trauma.

The meeting was followed by an enjoyable informal meal allowing an exchange of views and experiences among those trainees present at both registrar and SHO level.

This was a successful event made possible by the courtesy of our sponsors for the evening, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.

The Audience were entertained by Professor Crane's morbid sense of humour as well as being enlightened by useful knowledge.
