Regional Representatives
West Midlands
We have only recently taken over as the West Midlands ASiT representatives. We hope that this will be the beginning of an increased interest in the association from our region. This is important because of the incredible expansion in the number of surgical trainees in the West Midlands over recent years.
We aim to encourage increased ASiT membership across the region and keep our local trainees up-to-date with ASiT activity via the West Midlands trainees website (www.wmsurgeons.com) that has been developed by John Lengyel. We will also hold regular meetings that will help maintain contact at a hospital level so we are aware of all local training issues at a time of enormous change in surgical training. Hopefully we will be able to include Basic Surgical Trainees and all specialties in our network and represent the region as a whole.
All meetings in our region will have a social element to encourage participation, as we are new to this it will take time to set up and develop. We will report back with our progress next year.
