The ASiT Silver Scalpel Award for Excellence in Surgical Training
ASiT Silver Scalpel Award 2012
Six Silver Scalpel nominees have now been independently selected by a panel of trainees according to a template developed by Mr David O'Regan, Past President of ASiT. Thank you for a record number of 29 applicants - all of whom showed fantastic standards of surgical training and humbling levels of commitment.
Interviews will be undertaken by pairs of ASiT Council members of a different speciality interest and not having been trained personally by them - with our findings sent again for independent adjudication involving all 4 President's of our Royal Surgical Colleges and the Chief Medical Officer.
For the first time all shortlisted Silver Scalpel Award nominees will be invited to our ASiT 2012 Conference in Cardiff. The winner will be announced at the Silver Scalpel Award ceremony during our Gala dinner on the 24th of March 2012.
