ASiT "How to get your work published" Course

£30 (plus conference registration)
This course is divided into three sections, each lasting about 90 minutes. It is very interactive. You will have to vote, solve problems, create titles and do some editing. An outline of the three sessions is indicated below:
Registration for the course will run from 0900-0930am and coffee will be provided
Session 1 (0930-1100am)
An Introduction to Surgical Publishing and getting started
This will cover material suitable for publication, how to choose an appropriate journal and critically appraise existing literature.
Session 2 (1115-1245pm)
Writing in Scientific English
This will cover some of the pitfalls in scientific writing and how to avoid them.
Session 3 (1330-1500pm)
Dealing with the completed manuscript
This will cover some issues around submission and publication ethics, along with how to deal with revision and editing.
