Ansell
Supporting those working in 'areas of need'
The Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) are pleased to announce that our Gold Sponsors, Ansell, are happy to provide a small supply of sterile gloves to individuals who are going to work in areas of need, in order to support their role there, and provide sterile barrier protection for the healthcare team.
We have a range of various Gammex gloves available with over 1000 pairs which may prove invaluable to some of the underresourced areas for helping prevent surgical site infections, whilst providing excellent barrier protection for the heathcare worker.
We would like to make these gloves available to people going to undertake work in areas of need where these resources are often found wanting. We therefore invite applications from individuals to secure delivery of these gloves, and details of the application can be found at the bottom of this page.
Ansell in Education
The reason for the use of various sterile gloves in the perioperative period is poorly understood by trainees in general, and we are please to be able to provide some background data on sterile gloves, and the benefits of double gloving which would be of interest to trainees about to sit their examinations, either MRCS, or FRCS.
Furthermore, Ansell have a wealth of educaitonal information available relating to issues surrounding protection, and infection control in a wider setting which may be useful for presentations within the hospital setting, and also for revision purposes for Vivas and Examinations. These innovative audio-visual presentations also include powerpoint slides, witten text, and links to other sources of information that are easy to follow and educationally informative.
