Social Programme

Our social programme receives just as much care and attention as the conference programme itself. Following on from the success of last year, for 2012 we are again hosting a free Welcome Drinks Reception on the Friday night following our pre-conference courses. We hope this will encourage both those attending the Friday courses and early arrivals to come and socialise.

The stunning new Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama will host the ASiT Charity Gala Dinner party this year, with a drinks reception followed by an exquisite four-course meal including top-quality wines. Located just a few minutes walk from the City Hall conference, this £22 million pound architect designed world-class conservatoire promises to be a very special venue.

The ASiT Gala Dinner is a famously fun night, and the highlight of our conference weekend. Last year over 200 trainees attended the Charity Gala Dinner Party, which raised money for Operation Hernia.

The dinner is a great opportunity to let your hair down and chat with fellow trainees from across the country, together with our invited guest speakers from the conference.

In 2012 the Charity Gala Dinner will be raising money for the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund (RMBF) through a raffle prize draw with a range of fantastic prizes. Raffle tickets will be on sale during the Friday and Saturday of the conference, and the current RMBF President Dame Deirdre Hine (Formerly Chief Medical Officer for Wales, President of the Royal Society of Medicine and President of the BMA; former Chairman of the BUPA Foundation) will be our guest for the evening.
