Bariatric fellowhip-Bruges-Spring/Autumn-2009
ASiT Bariatric Fellowship
ASiT is pleased to invite applications for two new 3 Month Bariatric Fellowships with Dr Bruno Dillemans in Brugge (Bruges), Belgium.
Dr Dillemans has an enormous experience in Bariatric Surgery and performs over 900 procedures a year, with 10 – 15 cases routinely booked to each of his thrice weekly operating lists. The successful candidates can expect to receive substantial “hands-on” experience, including operating as 1st surgeon (ability permitting) and would also be involved with the unit’s data collection with co-authorship of any resulting publications.
The Fellowships will run from:
6 April 2009 to 26 June 2009
and from:
5 October 2009 to 18 December 2009.
The successful applicants will receive accommodation and travel costs, with a monthly allowance of €1000 kindly provided by one of our industry sponsors.
To apply for this exciting opportunity, please send a copy of your full CV along with a brief summary of your laparoscopic experience and a letter outlining your reasons for applying to: whawkins@doctors.org.uk
An ability to independently perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy and appendicectomy is a minimum requirement, however competition will be high and the final candidate will be selected on merit by Dr Dillemans. Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce a letter of support and confirmation of operative ability from a recent Consultant Trainer.
As time is short, the closing date for applications for the Spring fellowship is Friday 13th February and the successful candidate will be notified by Friday 20th February.
The closing date for the Autumn fellowship is Friday 27th March and the successful candidate will be notified by Friday 25th April.
If you would like to be considered for both fellowships only one application is necessary but please make this clear in your application. No applications will be considered after the deadline.
To be considered, all applicants must be current ASiT members and must be able to commit to the start date.
