DrExamTM MRCS OSCE Course & Part 3 - Leeds - 2010
The September / October 2010 dates for the DrExamTM MRCS courses, which have been highly reviewed by previous MRCS candidates, will be as follows:

MRCS OSCE COURSES: 18th-19th Sept 2010 (Course 2: Clinical Examination, Communication Skills & History Taking Small Group Tutorials) & 25th-26th Sept 2010 (Course 1: Applied Basic Sciences, Principles of Surgery & Viva Skills).

MRCS Part 3 COURSES: 25th-26th Sept 2010 (Viva) & 9th-10th Oct 2010 (Clinical). 

COURSE SUPERVISOR: Professor D Sharpe OBE MA MB Bchir FRCS (Professor of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery).

These courses adhere to Royal College of Surgeons & PMETB guidelines and are designed to cover the specific syllabus relating to either the Part B OSCE (new style exam) OR Part 3 (old style exam), depending on which courses the candidate registers for. Candidates who attend the complete course, over 2 highly intensive weekends, will be offered teaching & hands-on practice including the following:

• Small group clinical tutorials with 3 candidates per group.
• Free DrExam MRCS OSCE Revision Guides Book 1 / Book 2 (+DVD) with relevant course bookings - New!!!
• DVD projection videos of clinical examination routines - New!!!.
• Observed FULL examination routine practice.
• Personal performance feedback on examination technique & approach with tips on optimising success.
• Communication skills, history taking & practice.
• Interactive, problem based lectures & demonstrations on basic surgical sciences including; anatomy, operative surgery, surgical skills, pathology, patient safety, physiology & critical care (Part B OSCE / Part 3).
• Mock examination practice specific to each course including: manned & unmanned stations (Part B OSCE), clinical scenarios (Part B OSCE / Part 3) & viva practice (Part B OSCE / Part 3).
• Advice from previous successful candidates.

DrExamTM courses are run in association with and in support of the Plastic Surgery & Burns Research Unit, Bradford. This unit evolved from the 1985 Bradford Football Club fires in which over 200 people were either killed or injured. We also thank ASIT, Medical Education Leeds, Leeds Hospital NHS Trust & the other NHS trusts who are supporting this project.
