Travelling Fellowships 2007/08
The Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) are pleased to announce two travelling fellowships kindly sponsored by Covidien.
A first prize of £2000 and a runner up prize of £500 will be awarded at our AGM (7-9th March 2008) to the successful applicants. Applications from ASiT members for the 2007/08 fellowships should be received by the 31st January 2008.
Rules
Each application should be typed in 12 point font, singly spaced and should be no longer than 2 sides of A4 paper. It should contain details of a period of surgical training to be spent abroad and should include:
- The name of the institution and their sponsor/host department
- What that particular institution has to offer the trainee and why
- The length of time they intend to spend at that institution
- Why the applicant wishes to visit that particular institution and what is the likely benefit of the visit
- A brief summary of likely travel costs
All applicants must disclose any funding they have already received or intend to apply for; failure to do so will result in disqualification from the prize.
Please enclose with your application your current CV including referees, proof of the declared training attachment, as well as proof of ASiT membership or a completed application for membership.

Conditions of Entry and Acceptance:
Prize-winners will be expected to give a brief presentation concerning their attachment at our subsequent AGM in 2009, and to submit a written report to Covidien which will also be published in the ASiT Yearbook.
