THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF BARBERS’ PRESENTATION PRIZE IN “DISASTER & DEVELOPING WORLD SURGERY”

Open to all undergraduates, nationally.
Presentations must relate to an aspect of surgery in disasters anywhere in the world or surgery in a developing world context. This may include case studies from surgical electives, examinations of the surgical response to conflict, terrorism or disasters at home or abroad, considerations of disaster response planning or surgical education.

Abstracts of no more than 120 words should be submitted to Mrs Yvonne Forde (yforde@sgul.ac.uk) no later than 18th May 2010 (midnight).

The distinguished judges for the evening will be:

Dr Jeremy Shaw Bolton, Master of the Worshipful Company of Barbers
Professor Jim Ryan, Emeritus Professor of Conflict & Catastrophe Medicine
Mr Zahid Mukhtar, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon
Colonel Peter Roberts, Emeritus Professor of Military Surgery

The Worshipful Company of Barbers have kindly sponsored the prize of £300 for the 1st prize case presentation
