BASO Trainees (previously known as the Surgical Oncology Trainee Association (SOTA)) provides support and resources for surgical trainees across all branches of cancer surgery in the UK and Ireland, as a branch of the British Association of Surgical Oncology - Association for Cancer Surgery (BASO - ACS).
BASO Trainees offers free membership, including an electronic subscription to the European Journal of Surgical Oncology, for trainees in the UK and Ireland who are a member of a speciality or subspeciality association. An elected representative of BASO Trainees is invited to attend on the BASO - ACS National Committee. BASO Trainees also aims to provide trainees with an outlet to publish and present their research at its national scientific meeting (the abstracts for which are published in the European Journal of Surgical Oncology), and works to improve training conditions for future cancer surgeons.
