Target audience: senior medical students and junior doctors interested in paediatric surgery

Please note this course cannot be booked as a standalone course. To be eligible to attend, you must register for the ASiT Virtual Conference 2021.

Course Format:

This virtual course that aims to provide candidates with an insight into the speciality and the basic knowledge of common paediatric surgical pathologies. It will also include a virtual practical workshop and provide information on the speciality training national recruitment process. The course is suitable for candidates who would like to pursue or consider paediatric surgery as a career and also those who deal with paediatric patients as part of their adult general surgery practice.

Learning Outcomes

To describe common paediatric surgical conditions that might also present to a DGH
To appreciate the embryology behind some congenital anomalies
To gain virtual operative experience of key paediatric surgical procedures
To understand the speciality training national selection process
