Please note this course is not a standalone course, and in order to be eligible to attend, you must register for the ASiT 2018 Conference.
This one-day core skills in urology course is being offered at ASiT for the first time. It covers the key practical skills essential for a urology trainee and for those who cover Urology when on-call. Key areas covered will include emergency procedures such as rigid cystoscopy and stent insertion, scrotal fixation and difficult catheterisation, as well as core procedures such as circumcision and flexible cystoscopy. This course will be delivered in the form of practical skill stations using a range of materials from animal tissue to simulators. All the stations will be supervised by a urologist to ensure adequate time and guidance for each skill. There will also be an opportunity to discuss entering Urology ST3 training for those interested in pursuing a Urological career.
Groups will rotate through 4 stations which will be practical with time to contextualise that station. Faculty will be urologists from a range of training grades. The programme is still to be finalised but a draft is seen below.
The course will conclude with a free evening drinks reception and canapés from 1800.
