In collaboration, we proudly present the first East of England Foundation Surgical Skills Course. For anyone interested in a career in colorectal or general surgery, this is a DO NOT MISS day. We will guide you through basic skills, such as suturing, knot tying and laparoscopic skills. It is also an amazing opportunity for networking, enhancing your CV and careers advice from senior trainees and Consultants! As of 2019, the FSS course is a recognised development course in core surgical training applications.

09:00-09:30 - Registration
09:30-10:00 - Lecture 1 - Medical Records and Operative Notes
10:00-11:00 - Lecture 2 – Surgical portfolio, Sutures, Drains and Instruments.
11:00-11:30 - Coffee/Tea Break
11:30-13:00 - Surgical Skill 1 - suturing both interrupted and continuous, knot tying
13:00-14:00 - Lunch
14:00-15:00 - Surgical Skill 2 – Subcuticular and mattress sutures
15:00-16:00 - Surgical Skill 3 – Laparoscopic skills
16.00 – Feedback and Close
