VENUE: Edinburgh International Conference Centre - Harris 2 Room
Friday 6th April 2017
Calling all budding researchers! This course will guide you through the steps needed to move from an initial idea to a clinical trial. Using a mix of talks and group work, we will cover key concepts in clinical research including assessing and appraising literature, equipoise, ways of minimising bias, and an introduction to statistics. By the end of the day, you will have enough knowledge to pitch a trial idea to the faculty. This course is appropriate for those who have no or little direct experience of clinical research. It will also be invaluable to help prepare for the ST3 ‘academic station’ interview and the FRCS examination.
Medical Student - ST8
Miss Natalie Blencowe - Surgical Trainee & NIHR Clinical Lecturer
Mr Matt Lee - Clinical Research Fellow in General Surgery
Please note this course is not a standalone course, and in order to be eligible to attend, you must register for the ASiT 2018 Conference.
