This national core surgical interview preparation course is specifically aimed at foundation doctors preparing to apply for core surgical training in the next 1-2 years. Senior medical students also welcome. The course will be provided by a number of high scoring core surgical and higher surgical trainees.
The introductory evening will include an overview of the CST application process including hints and tips and a chance to ask questions. There will also be an opportunity to review high scoring portfolios from previous years.
The portfolio evening provides the opportunity to sit down with multiple core and higher surgical trainees and receive personalised feedback and advice on your portfolio prior to interviews. There will also be further information on the structure of the core surgical training interviews and advice from highly scoring applicants. This is mainly suited to delegates applying for CST in the current application cycle.
The mock Interview day will allow delegates to complete a full mock core surgical training interview including the clinical, leadership and management and portfolio stations followed by immediate feedback. The interview day is arranged close to the real interview dates to maximise the benefit for delegates. Specific interview times will be sent to delegates closer to this part of the course. Preference will be given to those applying to core surgical training this year.
Applicants are welcome to come to all or specific parts of the course.
Registration: Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
Please include which parts of the course you would like to attend, your current grade and intended time of applying to core surgical training.
