ASiT 20th Annual Silver Scalpel Award:
Recognising Excellence in Surgical Training since 2000
2020 NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN
NOMINATE YOUR TRAINER TODAY!
Over the past two decade the prestigious Silver Scalpel Award has played a vital part in recognising trainers that go the extra mile for their trainees, while at the same time promoting the highest standards of surgical training.
At a time of constant flux in the NHS, with training increasingly squeezed by demands on service, it is more important than ever that we recognise and reward good trainers.
Good training goes hand in hand with providing excellent patient care, and Silver Scalpel winners also deliver an exemplary service to their patients by creating a positive clinical environment and learning culture for trainees.
We want to hear from you, the trainee, about any surgical trainer (non-training grade) that you feel deserves this prestigious award.
Guidelines for Nominations:
Maximum of 2 A4 pages on why you think your trainer is an exceptional surgical trainer and deserves the Silver Scalpel award. In particular, please describe your trainer under the following headings in your nomination.
- Leadership
- Resourcefulness
- Training and Development
- Professionalism
- Communication
Deadline:
Midnight, Friday 22nd November 2019
Please send your nominations to: info@asit.org, with the subject line, Silver Scalpel Nomination.
All shortlisted Silver Scalpel Award nominees will be invited to our ASiT 2020 Conference in Birmingham. The winner will be announced at the Silver Scalpel Award ceremony during our Charity Dinner on Saturday 7th March 2020.
