The ASiT-ESO Bursary for the MSc in Surgical Sciences

The Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) are providing ten bursaries, each worth £1000 annually, to support ASiT members undertaking the MSc in Surgical Sciences, part of the Edinburgh Surgery Online suite of programmes https://www.edinburghsurgeryonline.com/

To be eligible you must provide:

  • A personal statement of no more than 200 words confirming that you are continuing your learning in a supervised clinical environment and explaining why you consider yourself to be a worthy recipient of an ASiT bursary, and specifically any financial limitations you currently face.

  • The University Username (UUN) assigned to you when you made your online application for the MSc in Surgical Sciences (e.g. s1912345).

  • Your current ASiT membership number.

Applicants should already have been offered a place on the programme, and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. If they have not yet paid their deposit, they will be required to pay within two weeks of being offered the scholarship. Applicants who hold full sponsorships are not eligible for the scholarship. Selectors reserve the right to invoke the criterion of academic merit. If an applicant is successful in being awarded a scholarship, but subsequently declines their offer of admission on the MSc programme, the award of the scholarship will be withdrawn and awarded to another applicant. An award may be withdrawn if a student fails to meet the academic standards set by the University.

Ten awards are available and will be repeated annually to support the student assuming academic performance is acceptable.

Please submit your application for an ASiT-ESO bursary to:

surgicalsciences.info@ed.ac.uk (note this scheme is open to NEW students only)

Closing date for applications: 5pm (UK time) 16th August 2019
