Dear ASiT Members,
The Association of Surgeons in Training Council is an independent professional body and registered charity (1196477) consisting of a diverse group of surgical trainees aiming to promote the highest standards of surgical training through pan-speciality and pan-grade national representation. ASiT works for the benefit of all trainees and patients irrespective of race, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
We are very excited to open applications for upcoming council positions: 9 Regional Representatives, 1 Foundation Doctor Rep, 1 Equality and Diversity Officer, and 1 NIHR/SRS Research Rep.

Regional Representatives
Regional Representatives make up a significant component of the ASiT Council and provide a vital local point of contact with ASiT for surgical trainees across all grades and specialities. There are currently 23 regions. The Regional Representative structure is closely aligned to the Schools of Surgery and Postgraduate Deaneries and represent surgical trainees at a national level.

Foundation Representative
Applications are now open for a Foundation Representative position who will be an ASiT council member. They will serve a key role in liaising with and recruiting ASiT Foundation School Ambassadors throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland to represent foundation doctors interested in surgical training and education.

Overview
Applications are now open for 1 NIHR/SRS Research Representative position who will be an ASiT council member. They will serve a key role in representing trainee engagement in research during surgical training as well as integrated academic surgical training throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland to advocate for the needs of these trainees.
