Meiling MacDonald-Nethercott

Meiling, a CT1 in the East Midlands, graduated in Graduate Medicine from the University of
Cambridge in 2021. Prior, she studied natural sciences at Cambridge before pursuing a Ph.D.
in Cancer Research at the Cancer Research UK Centre in Glasgow University. Currently
enhancing her expertise with a PGcert in Medical Education, Meiling is dedicated to
improving learning experiences, especially in surgical education. As an ASiT representative
for the East Midland, she is passionate about fostering equality, diversity, and inclusivity,
she advocates for trainee voices, planning regional engagement and emphasizing open
dialogue in the surgical community. Meiling envisions creating a dynamic, supportive space
that bridges trainee aspirations.
