The conference will be held in Bournemouth International Centre on 8-10th March 2024.

There is a dedicated baby feeding room open all 3 days of conference, this is located in the Radio Room.

The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) is an award-winning premier conference, events and entertainment venue, situated at the town's centre.

Arriving by car

From Bournemouth West Roundabout: Take the first exit and follow the brown signs to the BIC. The BIC multi-storey car park is off the roundabout at the bottom of Priory Road. From the North and West: Head for the A31 / A338 junction (Ashley Heath) just outside Ringwood, taking the A338 (Wessex Way) to Bournemouth. Then follow the directions from the Bournemouth West Roundabout. Use postcode BH2 5BH for sat nav.

Parking: The BIC (644 spaces) is attached to a cashless, multi-storey public car park, open 24 hours a day. It has step-free access to the foyer from all levels and wider accessible spaces on levels 1, 2 and 3.

The height restriction for the car park is 6’ 6” or 2 metres. This is indicated by a fixed yellow barrier at the entrance.

There are 35 accessible parking bays in the car park located on levels 1 to 3.

Arriving by bus

The Bournemouth Pier bus stop (Stand HH) for Morebus - 1a, 1b, 1c, 5, 5a, 6, 6a, 12, 22 on Exeter Road is just 1 minute walk from the venue.

The Westover Road bus stop (Stand 2) for Morebus - M1, M2, 13, 17, 32, 33, Unibus U4 on Westover Road by the Bournemouth Pavilion is an 8-minute walk from the venue

Arriving by train

Bournemouth International Centre is located 1.3 miles from Bournemouth Railway Station (approximately 28-minute walk). For train timetable information visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.

Arriving by bike

Bike racks are located by the pedestrian entrance to the car park. The Bournemouth International Centre does not take any responsibility for possible acts of theft or damage of your property.

Beryl bays for bikes and scooters can be found on South Cliff Road (approximately 1-minute walk from the venue) or on Bournemouth Lower Gardens (approximately 3-minute walk from the venue).

Both the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel and the Bournemouth Hilton Hotel are extremely conveniently located for the conference, however there are a number of other options on Booking.com and AirBnB.

Conference Programme 2024 Social Events 2024

On Saturday 9th March we will be hosting the annual ASiT Charity Gala Dinner at the Hilton hotel in Bournemouth in support of the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund.

Dress Code: Black Tie

The event runs between 1900-0000 and includes a three course dinner and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition to the Silver Scalpel Award Ceremony, there will be live music and an opportunity to let your hair down and have a dance before returning to the conference programme on Sunday morning. There will also be a charity raffle with lots of exciting prizes to be won!

Surgical Sculpture Workshops x ASiT surgical sculpture taster workshop

Together in collaboration with Surgical Sculpture Workshops team (https://www.buildingthebody.co.uk/) for the second year in a row we welcome the ASIT conference delegates to develop their skills in a unique course to learn in-depth anatomy using sculpture.  

During a 60 min session you will have the opportunity to develop anatomy and artistic skills whilst building a whole body Musculoskeletal sculpture.

-       Supportive Senior faculty

-       Full body MSK anatomy – fun way to revise and develop new skills

-       No prior experience in sculpture required

-       Suitable for all levels of training (student, foundation dr. to peri-exam as well as consultants)!

-       Sculpture tools and wax used to construct anatomy models in 3D.

Calling all Escape Room Lovers!

Have you got what it takes to solve the clues, master the art of teamwork and save the patient all before the next shift comes in!?

Gather your team and sign up for our Surgical Escape Room taking place on SATURDAY 9th MARCH at the ASIT Annual Conference! 

You will need to use your surgical knowledge to navigate through a clinical scenario, all the while employing your best puzzle solving and communication skills to escape.

If you would like to take part, please email with your name, role/level of training and contact number. You can sign up with a group of friends or individually - it's up to you! Each team will consist of 6-8 players.
