Gillian Miller

Gillian is an ST2 in General Surgery, currently working in the West of Scotland. With a wealth of experience spanning a variety of surgical specialties, she brings a diverse skill set and knowledge base to her role. Gillian's commitment to the surgical field extends beyond her clinical duties; she actively engages in a multitude of society events.

Gillian is passionate about improving surgical training, which led to her appointment as the West of Scotland Representative. In this role, she is a staunch advocate for the voices of her fellow trainees, working tirelessly to ensure their concerns and perspectives are heard and addressed at the national level.

Throughout her tenure on the council, Gillian has played a pivotal role in organising and executing a series of successful events. Such events include a CST interview preparation evening, aimed at helping trainees navigate the challenging interview process, which saw a number of candidates go on to secure training posts. She also helped co-ordinate “Essential Radiology for Surgeons” and “Essential Pathology for Surgeons”, which explored the essentials of both specialties, tailored to the unique needs of surgical trainees. She hopes that her dedication to education and support within the surgical community will make her an asset to her colleagues and the broader medical community.
