Michael El-Boghdady

Michael is currently a chief registrar at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London with clinical, leadership and management roles. He is a trainee registrar at South London deanery. Michael was elected to the Council as the ASiT South East London Representative and subsequently the EDI officer. He is passionate about surgical education, and he obtained his MD degree in surgeon's errors and laparoscopic training. He also obtained master’s degrees in health professions education and another degree in higher education. He has special interests in surgical training, anti-bullying, equality, and diversity in surgery. Michael made an EDI working group of enthusiastic ambassadors and is working on many projects to improve training environment and eliminate bullying, discrimination, and harassment in surgical training, as well as to provide support strategy to trainees who experienced poor behaviours. Michael created the anti-bullying, discrimination, and harassment guidance, which will be published very soon.
