An immersive simulated experience as “A day in the life of an Oncoplastic Breast surgeon” from diagnosis, assessment, decision making and surgical management of patients with breast cancer. 

Trainees will understand the diagnosis, complete skill stations in breast biopsy, attend a simulated MDT and then continue with the surgical decision making of reconstructive surgery and undertake simulated skill training in breast conserving surgery.

A powerpoint lecture to the whole group to discuss the assessment process in breast cancer

Skills station

FNA, Core biopsy, Punch biopsy with US - 3 groups - show and practice on simulated models

Simulated MDT

Mock Oncoplastic MDT – run through of 3-5 cases (9 mins each) of discussing patients and deciding on surgical management

Discussion of IBR Vs autologous flap reconstruction with example photo models
